Alienware launches its OLED equipped notebook

The new version of Alienware 13

Alienware has now officially launched its first notebook with OLED screen, the 13-inch Alienware 13.

Previously announced at CES 2016 show in January, the new Alienware 13 will be the first gaming notebook that comes with an OLED screen.

Starting at US $1,299, the Alienware 13 OLED is not exactly cheap but will provide an impressive picture quality with its 13-inch 2560x1400 resolution OLED screen with 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 1ms response rate.

The based configuration also comes with Intel Skylake Core i5 CPU, Nvidia GTX 960M GPU, 8GB of RAM and 500GB hybrid drive. The new Alienware 13 OLED can be upgraded with Nvidia Geforce GTX 965M GPU, up to 16GB or RAM, various Intel Skylake Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs, PCIe-based SSDs and more.

The Alienware 13 is also compatible with Alienware's Graphics Amplifier external graphics card box which should provide additional GPU performance if needed.
