Windows 10 Creators Update available

With Media Creation tool

Microsoft’s Creators Update is the latest major update for Windows 10 and it's already available according to a post over on the Windows blog. Although the official roll-out will start April 11th, you can already download it from the official Microsoft site.

The Creators Update will fix existing issues while also introducing new features. The so called "Game Mode" is certainly going to be the biggest upgrade to Windows 10 and next to that there is also “Beam”, which allows game streaming to the Windows 10 Game Bar. The "Game Mode" is a feature that could slightly improve performance with Universal Windows Platform and Win32 games when it's activated. To do so Game Mode will shut down all unnecessary background tasks freeing up resources.

Additionally Microsoft Edge received a few updates as well. There is for example the new "advanced tab management" allowing you to share tabs across signed-in devices, as well as the ability to "set aside" tabs and bring them back up later. Furthermore the Paint 3D app, which we’ve first seen six months ago, will be included in the update, too. Last but not least, one of the most important changes is about the updates. Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise editions users will have more control when updates are installed and when the machine restarts after updates.

As we said before the Windows 10 Creators Update should be available to everyone on April 11th. However if you want to use it already there is a workaround for you. Microsoft has updated their Media Creation tool to produce media for the Creators Update. Since it is a massive update we recommend to wait until at least April 11th in order to give Microsoft extra time for tuning the new build. The first months will require frequent updates and some compatibility issues.
