Acer unveils RC271U display

With WQHD panel

Acer has expanded its monitor lineup with a WQHD model, featuring a 27-inch panel with 2560 x 1440 resolution and an IPS panel. According to Acer the display features 4ms grey to grey response time and 8-bit color is supported giving a good colour reproduction.

As we already mentioned the RC271U monitor has been equipped with a 27-inch panel and 2560 x 1440 Pixel resolution. There is one HDMI 2.0 connector, one DVI port and one DisplayPort 1.2 port. The display is based on an IPS panel with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 350 cd/m2 brightness. Acer is marketing this display as a multimedia monitor and for that purpose there are speakers but there is no support for either FreeSync or Gsync. Compare to TN panels the response time is slow, but still 4ms is definitely good enough for gaming as well.

Having a look at ergonomics this display’s stand only allows for adjusting the panel’s inclination. Luckily there is standard 100 x 100 mm VESA mount. Checking out the pictures, this is definitely a good looking monitor, which comes with a slim bezel.

So far Acer has not revealed details on pricing and availability on their RC271U display.
