MSI unveils Z270 GODLIKE GAMING motherboard

New flagship model

You might have already known, that the Z270 Gaming M7 is MSI’s latest flagship gaming model regarding Intel’s Z270 Express chipset. Today MSI adds another model to their Gaming lineup which goes by the name Z270 GODLIKE GAMING. During the past weeks several teasers have been posted and today there is finally the complete picture.

Apparently this board comes with an armada of features, such as three M.2 slots for example. Compared to the Z270 Gaming M7, which is the high-end model for the Gaming series, they’ve kept the same color scheme, but improved almost all the little details. At the moment there isn't any additional information on this particular from MSI directly.

Looking at the picture, the MSI Z270 GODLIKE GAMING is based on an E-ATX form-factor and there the usual four DIMM slots. Apart from that “Mystic Light” RGB lighting is supported, which allows for changing the illumination of the board from within Windows. There are four full-sized PCIe slots with steel reinforcements and one PCIe x1 slot. Between each full-sized PCIe slot there is a M.2 slot and all of them are covered with the MSI M.2 Shield which should help preventing thermal throttling of M.2 SSDs. The slots can hold a whole variety of M.2 drives and the longest of them could measure 110mm, complying with the 22110 standard.

In the case of SATA ports you’ll find six angled ports. MSI has also added quite a few bells and whistles you might want for overclocking. Like on the Z270 Titanium series, there is a debug display as well as several onboard buttons. Thanks to an earlier rumor regarding this model, we know that the I/O panel includes several USB ports and three Ethernet connectors. According to MSI, the USB ports are wired to an ASM3142 USB 3.1 controller offering up to 16 Gb/s of bandwidth.

So far MSI has not revealed details on pricing and availability regarding their Z270 GODLIKE GAMING motherboard but we’re sure we will know more during upcoming Computex 2017.
