NVIDIA Ampere might be just around the corner

Might be available in April

A few months ago, NVIDIA has unveiled their roadmap about upcoming architecture for gaming graphics cards. According to latest rumors, NVIDIA might release Ampere in a couple of months. Since GTC is usually around late March, NVIDIA might shot the upcoming graphics cards during that event.

According to the German website 3DCenter, NVIDIA will replace the GP102 chip this year with the GA104 GPU, the first chip of the Ampere generation. NVIDIA has released Pascal almost two years ago and this chip has reached the end of the life-cycle. At this time is still unclear if NVIDIA will show the upcoming architecture during GDC in mid-March or GTC in late March.

Furthermore the company might release first the GA104 chip for the GTX 2080 and 2070 in April, followed by the GA106 for the GTX 2060. Then, at some point, NVIDIA will release the new Titan card or another high-end "Ti" gaming graphics card. At the moment this is just a rumor and nothing has been confirmed yet.
